I rather liked the sketch early on. Now I just feel as though it’s over drawn.

    Cap’n Dr. Venture WiP 002
I have good news and bad news. Though, I suppose either don’t really affect any of you. Hmmm. Anyways, the good news is I finally finished the glasses. Whooo! After two failed attempts at making them out of illustration board (which felt like it took forever to cut out), I carefully sculpted away at my original pair of glasses made of wire.
The bad news is I have to redo the hand holding the mug. Why? Because it was very dry and I hadn’t done a good enough job before it dried. Why was it dry? Because I started this thing some time last year and never finished. Why didn’t I finish it? Because I’m terrible at finishing things! Why? Because! Leave me alone!
Sooo…. the fun begins. Redoing this hand is going to be a bit of a pain since I can’t swing the arm away from the body without the arm and sleeve cracking and possibly breaking off. But aside from that, and some more cleaning up, I’m close, I can see the finish line from here.

    Berznerz & Me

This is a piece I made for my lovely girlfriend which is based on a drawing she made of the two of us. She will also be painting it, and I will post that as soon as that is done.

On a side note, this was my first time using super sculpey firm. I love the stuff. Don’t know why I hadn’t tried it out sooner.

    Showdown Plumber

This is a piece I started last year during school. An open assignment actually, and If I remember I correctly I had decided to sculpt my interpretation of an established character.

First shot was taken shortly after coming out of the oven. Poor Mario’s finger got a bit toasty! The second shot was taken while doing my last efforts to smooth everything out.

Long story short, the motherboard on my mac bit the dust last year. I have the harddrive stored away somewhere safe, unable to access the files on it. And since I don’t know what else to do other than fork over who knows how many hundreds to retrieve the information from it, I’ve decided to skip that for now start posting the little I’ve done as of late. Enjoy!

    Untitled

This was my first sculptural commission that I completed late last year. Unfortunately I didn’t document the piece after completion (or enough during) and the client did some alterations after turning it in. Missed out on having a piece for my portfolio. Oh well, at least it was learning experience.

Thanks to my good friend Andrew and sister Isabel for posing for this. Took a couple of try because neither of them could keep a straight face.

    Oil Painting 17.18.

If I remember correctly, I spent two class sessions working on the left painting. On the third session I started over and did the painting on the right.
